What is the difference between Laryngectomy and Tonsillectomy?

The difference between laryngectomy and tonsillectomy is that "laryngectomy" is the surgical removal of part or all of the larynx, most often performed in cases of laryngeal cancer and "tonsillectomy" is the surgical removal of the tonsils, especially the palatine tonsils. Frequently accompanied by an adenoidectomy.
